McKinney Vento Roll-up Instructions

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to explain the end of year process for students who are considered McKinney Vento.


Path: Reporting > Data Validation > Data Validation Report

Select the following options:

  • Data Validation Group = DM - Roll In or Out (MKV)
  • Report Data Source = Local Dataset
  • Report Processing = Generate Now
  • Format Type = CSV

The report will show all current and incoming MKV students registered in your building and their status. If generated under the All Schools context, you will see all MKV Students District Wide.

If a student does not have a next year calendar building and they will be attending your District, you will need to enter a future enrollment Next Calendar, Next Schedule Structure and Next Grade on the enrollment screen in the current calendar vector line (beginning of calendar name indicates school year).

*You will be taken to the enrollment screen for any student on the report by clicking their Student ID number

  • Next Calendar = Student's next year building
  • Next Schedule Structure = Main
  • Next Grade = Student's next year grade

If a student on the report has an incorrect next year building,  you will need to enter a future enrollment Next Calendar, Next Schedule Structure and Next Grade on the enrollment screen in the current calendar vector line and delete the next year calendar vector line (beginning of calendar name indicates school year).

  • Next Calendar = Student's next year building
  • Next Schedule Structure = Main
  • Next Grade = Student's next year grade

Run this report often as the end of year approaches. This report will change as the school year ends and End of Year status is updated. 


You can also run the Roll in Roll out report and filter by MKV to ensure the student will roll properly during roll up.
